Isabel Presley on RDV Design (second from left)
Roberto De Villacis with a Model
I just recently met LA-based fashion designer Roberto De Villacis (RDV) at the famed Hollywood mansion Hacienda St. Pierre, built in 1929 by Al Jolson, the first mega star of the twentieth century. Here RDV hosted a VIP reception to welcome his guests and to show his fabulous collection
His Beautiful Design
Roberto De Villacis, originally from Ecuador, was first discovered by Karl Lagerfield in Paris upon graduating from the illustrious design school, Studio Bercot. His design philosophy is Le Divine in Design rooted in his South America heritage and Europe's legacy of luxury and savoir-faire.
His philosophy is translated wondefully into the beautiful haute couture pieces he creates. He is not just a designer but a fine artist whose works of wearable art have been photographed by the legendary Helmut Newton, Ellen Von Unwerth, Steven Miesel and been featured in Vanity Fair, Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, W and Elle. He has consulted for the iconic luxury houses Missoni and Anna Molinari and directed fashion campaigns creating the slogans "Believe in Beauty" for Lancome and "The Poetry of Science" for L'Oreal.
His "to die for" designs continue to rise as does his couture clientele, including mega stars, aristocrats and A-listers. Penelope Cruz, Kirsten Dunst, and supermodels Kate Moss and Verushka have showcased his original designs for events ranging from red carpet premieres and photo shoots to charity events.
RDV will be visiting San Francisco on July 26th. A showcase/fashion show will be presented at
the starlight room from 4pm to 6pm. So San Franciscans get ready to view the art of work and craftmanship that RDV champions in his world of fashion art!!!!
As always, San Francisco welcomes the talent of fashion designers around the nation. And Roberto De Villacis is ready to introduce his unique aesthetic and originality as he champions fashion as art.
